The New Way To Shop With Trunk Club Clubhouse

Raise your hand if you live for sweater weather, pumpkin spice everything and the beginning of the holidays! My favorite season is almost upon us… Fall! One thing I always strive to have in my closet are transitional pieces that can carry me from summer to fall. I look at them like investments and true staple items for my wardrobe. Think dresses used for layering, cropped jackets, and booties. The problem is I don’t always have the time (ahem I have three children) to shop for them and call me old fashioned I actually enjoy being able to try on items before I purchase them!

You might have heard me talk about Trunk Club a few times before on the blog or social media channels. I started using their service over a year ago and it is amazing. If you’re not familiar, Trunk Club is a personal styling service for men and women, perfect if you don’t have much time to shop, or you are looking for help from a stylist. You can shop with Trunk Club in person at one of their six Clubhouses (Boston, Chicago, Dallas, DC, LA, and NYC). The layout and the decor of each club house is seriously to die for. You are offered a refreshment from the bar the minute you check in for your appointment and are given your own private fitting room. These are not your average fitting rooms and the attention to detail is impeccable. Seriously, you will want to move in… or hire their interior designer!

Prior to my appointment my stylist, Simone and I brainstormed on the transitional items I was looking for and then she pulled together several pieces for me. When I arrived there was a clothing rack full of the most beautiful clothes calling my name. I enjoyed a mimosa, while Simone curated outfits for me complete with bags and jewelry.

I often have a really hard time trying on clothes and I usually ponder over purchasing things. The reality is I buy things in the wrong sizes and impulsively purchase items I bring home only to wear once. My friends literally make fun of me for this! At Trunk Club, Simone found the perfect fit for me, showed me how to style items several different ways and even pulled clothes I normally wouldn’t pick out for myself. Going to the Trunk Club LA Clubhouse made me feel like an actual princess for a day! I left with new outfits I could wear now and during the colder weather as well. It was a full day of shopping success! Find a Trunk Club Clubhouse near you and experience the fun for yourself! You will thank me!

Winter Essentials and I’m Back!

2016-11-06_thechicmamas_final-77

After a serious break from blogging, I’m back!  Since life gets in the way sometimes, I took a mini hiatus due to the whole family getting a raging virus that knocked us out for a full two weeks. So I’m back with this sweet #ootd showing off my favorite winter essentials. You know as a Mom, the most important things I look for in fashion are…. can I throw it on in 5 minutes or less and is it comfortable? This turtleneck tunic and these over the knee boots both passed that test with flying colors! This is by far my favorite outfit since it has started to get slightly colder in LA….okay who am I kidding I may have sweat through this sweater in 5 minutes but at least it looked good! I love oversized, chunky sweaters for winter that can be paired over tights, jeans, pencil skirts… you name it.

Looking For The Perfect Bag? Why Not Design It Yourself?!

Abby-5890

As most of you know by now I have a serious love for all things fashion, especially a good bag. I found that once I became a Mama I wanted to find a stylish, yet functional bag that made my outfit feel put together, but was practical for everything I needed for my daughter. I wasn’t looking for the traditional diaper bag, I wanted something fun, that fit my personal style. I stumbled upon Rebekah Scott Design’s, and fell in love with the fact that you can design and customize your own bag! In three easy steps you can create the bag of your dreams. The process is user friendly and took me about 10 minutes to choose my style, fabric and leather!

I chose the Jill style as you can wear it three different ways, over the arm, over the shoulder or cross body style. It has exterior pockets, as well as pockets that also line the inside of the bag. All of these features were music to my ears…the option to go hands free and keep everything organized in my bag…you had me at hello!! I mean let’s be honest, I usually carry my wallet, phone and some kind of lipstick for myself, and then I carry snacks, crayons, dinosaurs, smalls books and even a can of Play-Doh for Willow in my bag. So this bag had my name written all over it!

I went with the “brushed feathers” for my fabric choice, and also designed a wallet as well in the “collar ends” pattern. I loved the satisfaction of wearing my bag knowing that I had a hand in crafting it.  It turned out beautifully and I have received so many compliments since wearing it. I feel like it is my own personal work of art, that expresses my personal style and taste. So if you are looking for the perfect bag, why not design it yourself?  Here comes the best part…Rebekah Scott Design’s is giving my readers and followers $10 off any purchase over $75 with promo code: ChicMamas for the next week! Enjoy and let me know what style you choose in the comments below!!

How I master the “No-Makeup” Make Up Look!

2016.05.16_ChicMamas_FINAL-1

(Bag: Wet Seal and similar options HERE)

As a Mom, you know that time is precious, and morning routines can be hectic. Yet I feel that leaving the house looking refreshed helps me start my day on a good note. I routinely love to use this “No-Makeup” look for a fresh faced glow that helps highlight your natural beauty. These easy steps and simple products are quick to apply before you spend the next 45 minutes getting the kiddos in the car for one errand!

Shop This Look Below:

  1. Apply primer to clean moisturized skin to help this look stay in place. I recently tried this Lauren Mercier Radiant Primer and love it. Tip: For quick coverage apply with clean fingertips.
  2. Apply a sheer foundation, like this Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation by Sephora. I like this foundation as it is not too heavy, and appears natural while giving you great coverage.
  3. Conceal the under eye area and cover any blemishes. Again you can tap under your eye with your ring finger, or use a beauty blender to help blend your concealer. I’m obsessed with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard.
  4. Create a natural flush on cheeks. I like this Dinoplatz Cushy Blusher
  5. Highlight cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and brow bone with Radiant Aluminizing Drops. I have a serious love for highlighters! I feel like this just gives you the best dewey glow.
  6. Curl those lashes and add mascara. I use Better than Sex Mascara which adds great volume that lasts throughout the day.
  7. Finish with a natural lip color, such as Make Up Forever Natural Lipstick in shade Powdery Pink.

Now toss your hair up in a Mom bun and you are good to go!!

Spring Is In The Air

Spring is just around the corner, on March 20th to be exact. The problem is our weather has yet to figure out what it wants to be. One day it’s 90 degrees and the next day it’s freezing with crazy wind. Weird weather makes for confusing wardrobe choices at times. After mulling over my closet, I finally paired this lightweight midi skirt, with this soft, cropped knit shirt. I loved the end result, and was super comfortable for the day. Cropped sweaters, like this one, are great transition pieces. Remember…layers are your friend. Happy Monday!

Cupid’s Corner

Hey Ya’ll…after a little hiatus from blogging over the holidays, I finally got my life together and I’m back! If you have been following me over the last few months (on Instagram) then you understand my love for holidays. I literally just took down my Christmas decorations (don’t judge me!).

So I wanted to bring you all my Cupid’s Corner where all of my blog posts will be filled with Valentine’s Day inspirations. Think fashion, gift ideas, date night options and more!

With that being said, here is my first Valentine’s Day post with this amazing day to night look. This floral print is fun and flirty. Just because it is Valentine’s Day, doesn’t mean you have to stick to a red or black look. I wanted to mix it up a little, and I loved the fit of this dress as well. Get it HERE for under $100.
